CARMYLLIE DUMPLING, n.comb. [Cf. carmyllie clover.] A species of primula (Primula Saponica denticulata).Ags. 1968 William Allen Illsley ed. The Third Statistical Account of Scotland: The county of Angus (1977) 455:
'Carmyllie Dumplings' is occasionally applied to the Japanese Primula (Primula Japonica denticulata) though 'Kirrie Dumplings' is the more common local name.
