DONDIE-BIRL, n.comb. Also dondie-hurl (Bwk.), in phr. to gie someane or something the dondie-birl (hurl), to give him (it) a quick dispatch, to polish off smartly, to give the coup-de-grâce to (Fif. 1975). [See Dandie-claw and Birl, Hurl.]
