1. A big raw-boned awkward, impetuous person (Ags. 1808 Jam.; Abd. 1904 E.D.D.; Kcd. 1967); a dolt, a simpleton (Rnf. 1825 Jam.).
2. A dishonest, double-dealing person, a hypocrite, a cheat (Ayr. 1825 Jam.).ne.Sc. 1933 Kelso Chron. (3 Nov.) 5:
They kent the ramagiechan weel at ilka country fair.
