RALLY, n.3 Also rullye; ralli (Jak.). A sudden rush, a quick involuntary movement, a lurch, like the staggering of a drunk man (I.Sc. 1967). Also in n.Eng. dial.Ork. 1880 in Ellis E.E.P. V. 794:
Doun Paety came wi sic a rullye, He came like a gun shot!Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928):
“He made a ralli upon him”, he reeled suddenly, lost his balance.Ork. 1929 Marw.:
I saw him coman up the road and he took a sudden rally against the dike.
