I. n. A flutter, flurry.Ayr. 1895 H. Ochiltree Redburn xii.:
A white thing like that starting up wi' sic a pluffer afore ane's face.

II. adj. Of persons: chubby, flabby, puffy-fleshed (Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.).
