MAGOWK, n., v. [mə′gʌuk]
I. n. In phr. magowk's day, April-fools' day, (Gsw., Ayr., Kcb. 1962), a variant of gowk's day, id. See Gowk, n.1, 6. (5).Gsw. 1910 H. Maclaine My Frien' 65:
They're gaun to shift a' the nocks in the country, startin' next magowk's day.
