MAAK, n. The milt of a fish (Cai. 1903 E.D.D., Cai. 1962).Cai.9 1939:
Ye're as soft as a maak.

[Norw. melke, Dan. mœlke, the milt of a fish. The vowel however is unusual and suggests influence of Dan. dial. malk, milk, of which this word is ultimately a deriv. in Early Teutonic.]
