LURGIS, n. A wet or filthy mess (Ork. 1961). [′lʌrgɪs]Ork. 1929 Marw.:
His boots were just i' a lurgis. A' lyan i' a lurgis.
Sh. 1962:
When paint for example has been badly put on and has run, it might be said, “It's run in lurgis”.
