GRUNDISWALLOW, n.comb. Sc. form of Eng. groundsel, the herb Senecio vulgaris or (more rarely) S. jacobaea (Sc. 1808 Jam., Bwk. 1853 G. Johnston Botany E. Borders 109; Mry., Clc. 1886 B. & H. 236; ne.Sc., Ags. 1955). Other forms are grundieswallow, grundy-, groundie-, grunny-, gruni-, -swall(-ie, -y, -eh, -iss), grinning swallow; grounieswell, grun(n)ishule, -stule; grunsel(l), -shil.
