GRUGG, GRUGS, n. “Any glutinous or semi-liquid mess, e.g. (derogatively) porridge” (Ork. 1950); “a porridge-like substance resulting from an unsuccessful churning” (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), grugg). [grʌg(z)]
Hence grug(g)sy, adj., 1. applied to any glutinous mess (Ib.); 2. dirty, slovenly, gen. of a woman (Ork. 1887 Jam., grugsy, 1929 Marw., Ork. 1954). [′grʌgsi]
