FOREDASK, n. A seat or bench in front of an enclosed pew in church.Ork. 1710 in J. R. Tudor Ork. and Sh. (1883) 595:
Mr Backie . . . being Sole Proprietor of the Lands of the Sclaiters in Burows, in Harray, . . . and whose Tenents Thatched that part of the Church, and have always been Accustomed to Possess the Foredask of that Seat.
