DEUCH, DYOCH, n.1 Also teuch. A drink, a draught (Sc. 1808 Jam.; 1888 C. Mackay Dict. Lowl. Sc., deuch); extended to mean drink in general and “usually applied to that which is intoxicating” (n.Sc. 1808 Jam.), and to a pull of a pipe (Bnff.9 c.1927, deuch, teuch). [djux, tjux]Gall. 1877 “Saxon” Gall. Gossip 264:
Asking her wean if it wanted a d'yoch.
