CLOCH, Clogh, Clough, v. “To cough frequently and feebly” (Lth. 1825 Jam.2). Still found occas. in Cai. amongst older people. Vbl.n. clochan, a clearing of phlegm from the throat. [klɔx]Cai.8 1936:
He was a fair disgust wi' his clochan a' owre the place.
