BUREKENS, n.pl. “The place where one is accustomed to reside, one's native district, old place of refuge” (Ork. 1929 Marw.). [′burekɛns (Marw.)]

[Norw. bu, cattle, + rekkja, path, track (Torp), hence a much-used, familiar place. For a similar fig. extension, cf. Clowgang, n., 2 and 3.]
