Bowlt neeps, carrots, cabbage runts, an' rotten eggs, heaved at 'm.
Hence bowler, “a kettle, q[uasi] a boiler “ (Ib.).
[Fif.10 (1935) has not heard this pronunciation, but cf. bowsterous (s.v. Bousterous) for boisterous. D.O.S.T. gives boul, idem.]You may wish to vary the format shown below depending on the citation style used.
