BON PLOUGH, n. Service in ploughing due by a tenant to his landlord or lord of the manor.Sc. 1721 J. Kelly Proverbs 145:
He that trusts to bon Ploughs, will have his Land lye lazy.

[Cf. O.N. bón, request, petition. Fergusson's version (a.1598) of above is: “he that lippens to bon(e) plowes (plews), his land wil(l) ly ley” (S.T.S. 1924). Cf. also Bode, v.1, 5 (2).]
