BELFERT, BILFERT, BULFERT, n. Something or someone over the usual size. [′bɛlfərt, ′bɪlfərt, ′bʌlfərt]Bnff.4 1933:
Fat a bilfert o' a loon he's growing. He's gettin mair gin deef nits ony wy.
Bch. 1912 (per Abd.9); also Abd.22:
He was a great fat bulfert o' a loon.
Bch. 1929 (per Abd.1):
That belfert o' a sheaf'll stan' atween's an' the win'.
