BAYIN, n. A species of wrasse. This form is still heard (Wgt. 1961). See also Bavin. [′bɑɪn]Gall. c.1700 Symson Large Descr. of Gall. (1823) 149:
A Bayin, a thick little fish, about a foot long, red coloured, with some white spots in the belly.
