He'll ride very weel, gin he were aincin to the road.

If ance-en ye could warpel throwe.

[The suffix in is prob. due to some analogy such as aince in a way, aince on a time, aince an (see Aince, B.(8)), aftaften. Cf. the balladist's firsten = first(ly).]
