YOUST, v., n. Also yowse. [jʌuz, †jʌust]

I. v. †1. To talk loudly and at some length, but to little point (Rxb. 1825 Jam.).

2. To yelp, of a dog (Bwk. 1942 Wettstein, yowse).

II. n. Voluble, noisy, aimless conversation (Rxb. 1825 Jam.).
