YATTER, n.2 Gen. in pl. Deriv. yatterach. A confused mess or heap, a collection of small objects (Sc. 1808 Jam.); crumbs or remnants of food left by rats and mice (Dmf. 1925 Trans. Dmf. & Gall. Antiq. Soc. XIII. 43); a netful of mixed-up seaweed and general rubbish (Arg. 1930, yatterach).
