I. n. A small object or creature, a mite (Ayr. 1825 Jam.).

II. adj. Small, puny, and in ppl.adj. form yan't (Ib.).

[Orig. obscure, phs. the same word as yan, Yawin, but the authenticity of the word is somewhat doubtful.]
