YADER, n. Also yadder; jader (Jak.). A layer of sods, esp. the topmost or coping layer of a turf-wall (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., 1908 Jak. (1928)). Comb. yader feal, a sod from this layer (Sh. 1914 Angus Gl.). [′jɑdər]Sh. 1905 E.D.D.:
A yadder o' mör faals.
