YAAVE, n. One of the spokes or paddles on the fanner of a winnowing machine or on the vane of a corn-reaper or -binder (Bnff., Abd. 1970).Abd. 1920 A. Robb MS. v.:
This winnister . . . had a spout at the close end or heid as it was ca'd faur the corn cam oot. In the inside o' the box wis fat wis ca'd the yaaves.
