WHEERIEMIGO, n., v.

I. n. A gimcrack, a fanciful dodge or contraption (Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff. 210); an insignificant person (Ib.).

II. v. To work in an insignificant manner, to play fast and loose (Ib.).

[A nonce formation, prob. based on Whirligig, Wheerum + Ma- + (Mirlie)go, or the like. Cf. also Whirlimagig, Whirlmagee.]
