WEES'T, ppl.adj. Also weased. Depressed in spirits, doleful; also uneasy, anxious, fidgety (Abd. 1905 E.D.D., Abd. 1925). [wizt]Abd. 1804 W. Tarras Poems 61, 115:
Whan they gang frae the criv at morn, Wild-like an' wees't, they rin forlorn. . . . Oh! waes my heart! nae ferlie, then, that ye Shou'd gang sae wees't, an' tine yir wonted glee!
