TOUSH, n. Also toosh; erron. tosh. A woman's short-gown or bed-gown (Sc. 1825 Jam.), a negligee; a short-skirted dress formerly worn by women when working. [tuʃ]Per. 1835 J. Monteath Dunblane Trad. 70:
A Toosh, which is generally of coarse homemade plaiding, litted blue by themselves, and fashioned so as to tie behind.
