MACKAYA. Bot. A genus of tropical Asian plants of the family Olacineae (1838 G. Arnott in Jardin Mag. Zool. et Bot. II. 550), later called Erythropalum. A genus of Fucus was also called Mackaya. Derivs. Mackaii, Mackaniana, of a species of Erica or heath (1843 Sowerby English Bot. Suppl. iv. 2900).
