INNIES, n.pl. A children's game, in which one player stands with his face to a wall and counts ten during which time the others who are lined up some distance away move forward as far as they can. The counter then turns his head and any player still moving is out. The winners are those who reach the wall unintercepted. There is a final scramble back to the starting point with the counter in pursuit. The first one he catches then becomes ‘it’ (Rxb. 1900).
