CLICHER, v. Altered form of Clocher, v.1, to cough huskily, q.v.Abd. 1955 W. P. Milne Eppie Elrick xxi.:
He keepit clicher, clicher, clicherin aff an' on an' files pyocherin an' harrachin tae get 'e glaar spitten up.

[The altered vowel indicates a lighter more frequent cough than Clocher.]
