BRANDEY, n. The skip or director of a rink of players at curling. The word seems peculiar to Ags.Ags. 1772 J. Kerr Hist. Curling (1890) 122:
Eight names follow, and as a ninth there comes that of Isack Low, “the brandey or oversman.”
