SNARGASH, v., n.

I. v. To pierce, to insert forcibly (Abd. 1911 Abd. Weekly Jnl. (20 Jan.)).

II. n. A slash, an incision, a gash, a slit, a cut. Deriv. in fig. phr. ¶snargashlach o a face, a horrible, repulsive countenance.Abd. 1930:
"Fat wye's yer nose bleedin'?" "Aw gid it an ull snargash wi' a strae." . . . He hid sic a snargashlach o' a face, it feart the bairn.
