SKLINNER, n. A small clump of trees or copse on a moor. This meaning is doubtful; see etym. note.Dmf. 1922 Trans. Dmf. and Gall. Antiq. Soc. (1921–2) 50:
One of the unfenced thickets (or “sklinners” as they are called) on the moor.
