RESOLVE, v. Also Sc. reduced forms rezol, resoal (Sh. 1838 Gentleman's Mag. II. 591). See P.L.D. § 70.3. 1. Sc. Law usage: tr. and intr. to make or become void, to (cause to) lapse.Sc. 1773 Erskine Institute III. iii. § 11:
If he fail to pay the price within the time limited, the sale resolves, and the property returns from him to the seller.
Sc. 1838 W. Bell Dict. Law Scot. 859:
Resolutive Condition: a condition in a sale, which does not suspend the completion of the contract; but which resolves the sale, if the condition be purified at the time specified.

2. In ppl.adj. rezold, having the mind at rest, pacified, restored to calm and placidity, relaxed (Sh. 1904 E.D.D.).
