RECEIVE, n., v. Also resaive (Per. 1887 R. Cleland Inchbracken 10). Sc. form and usages:

I. n. Capacity for eating, appetite.Sc. 1818 Sawers:
A guid receive, a good stomach, a good appetite.
Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.:
By! what a receive hei has!

II. v. To seize, carry off, in imprecations. (Uls. 1953 Traynor), short for “May the Devil receive, etc.”Uls. 1899 S. Macmanus Chim. Corner 130:
The sorra resaive the one of them.
Sh. 1901 T. P. Ollason Mareel 33:
“What's wrong wi' my face?” . . . “May I be received, my dear, as he's laek da backpaet.”
Sh. 1967:
Gjöd receive me — an old imprecation.
