I. n. A circular mark, a ring.Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff. 138:
There's blue kyne o' raings roon's een. There's a raing roon the meen.

II. v. To encircle (Gregor); of badly-washed clothes: to become streaked with marks of dye (Ib.). Ppl.adj. raingit, streaky (Mry.1 1925).Gregor:
She didna mix the blue richt, an' she raingt the claise.
