PINTO, n. Also pintoe and erron. tintoe (Jam.). A pin or bolt used as a handgrip for turning the beam in a weaver's loom (Sc. 1818 Sawers; Edb., Rnf. 1825 Jam., Ayr. a.1850 Crawfurd MSS. (N.L.S.) P. 38).

[A variant of Pintle, used in Eng. in sim. technical senses of a pin or bolt.]
