OUTLINS, adv. Also -ans, -ens, ootlins. Outside, away from home, afield, beyond one's usual bounds. Construed by Jam.5 as a n. = “liberty to go in and out at will, freedom; hence, holidaying, recreation” (Ayr. 1880 Jam.), phs. from some such phr. as to get outlans.Kcb. 1901 R. Trotter Gall. Gossip 201:
