ON-, pref.1 The prep. and adv. On is freq. found as a pref. where Eng. has the reverse order of combination, e.g. Oncairry, to carry on, Oncome, Ondraw, Ongae, Ongetting, Onhanger, Onpit, Ontak, v., Onwait. The usage is general in the vbl.n. and frequent in finite tenses.
