MOSES' TABLES, n.comb. A white granite with distinctive dark pattern found at Portsoy (see quot.).Bnff. 1806 Gazetteer Scot. Intro. 13:
At Portsoy is found that singular kind of granite called Moses' Tables, which, when polished, resembled the Hebrew characters on a white ground.
