MAREILLEN, n. Also marullion; mourie lyan, mulrein (Fif., Lth. 1810 P. Neill Fishes 23), mulringin (Fif., Lth. 1926 Wilson Cent. Scot. 256). The angler or fishing frog, Lophius piscatorius (Ib.; Ags. 1930 Fishery Board Gl., mareillen, mourie lyan; Fif. 1951 (St. Monance), marullion).
