LAITHIE, n. Also lethie (Jam.). A surfeit, a disgust (Lth. 1825 Jam.). Deriv. laithiement, superabundance, surfeit, a very large amount (Abd.6 1913). [′leθe]Abd.1 1929:
Tak a laithiement o' honey on yer breid, that'll gar ye grow bonnie an guid.
