KLIPPE, n. Given as “a fairy”.Sc. 1908 E. B. Simpson Folk-Lore 93:
Klippe is the Forfarshire name for a fairy. A well-known minister of the Church of Scotland related, this century, at a dinner in Edinburgh, how his father had met a klippe in a bare moor-land in Forfarshire.

[The word is otherwise unauthenticated and may be a mistake for Kelpie.]
