KLEPPISPUR, n. Also clepaspur (Ork. 1898 E.D.D.). The hermit crab, Pagurus pollicaris (Ork. 1929 Marw., Ork. 1960). [′klɛpɪspʌr]
[Norw. dial. klepp, hobble for a horse + Norw. spord, O.N. sporðr, tail of a fish. The name refers to the crab's habit of housing its tail in a cast-off whelk-shell.]You may wish to vary the format shown below depending on the citation style used.
