KEEPIE-IN, n.phr. The name given to a pupil who is detained as a punishment after school hours (ne.Sc., Per. 1959).Abd. 1875 G. Macdonald Malcolm I. x.:
He . . . had a very poor memory for the answers and was in consequence often a keepie-in.

I canna mind what faut I had been in, but at onyrate I was a “keepie in”.
