JING-BANG, n. Also jeeng-bang, jin-; ging-bang (s.Don. 1890 D. A. Simmonds Gl.; Sc. 1897 J. Wright Sc. Life 7); jabang. A considerable number. Gen.Sc. Gen. in phr. the hail jin(g)-bang, the whole lot, company, concern, affair (Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff. 91; Uls. 1880 Patterson Gl.). Gen.Sc. Also used attrib. and contemptuously — a worthless collection or lot (Uls. 1924 W. Lutton Montiaghisms 24, Uls. 1947). [′dʒɪŋ ′baŋ]Wgt. 1880 G. Fraser Lowland Lore 172:
