HOGGIE, n.2 A tasty portion of food, served as an addition to ordinary everyday fare.Ayr. 1949 per Dr Boyd:
"Bread and butter and hoggie". Hoggie is the extra, sometimes called "Kitchen" — ham, eggs, fish, etc.

[A corruption of Fr. haut goût, high flavour, relish. Cf. †Eng. hogo, id.]
