HEULIE, n. Ork. fisherman's tabu-name for a church. [′høli]Ork. 1884 R. M. Fergusson Rambles 165:
If they [the fishermen] must refer to the Kirk, it is by the name of the heulie, meaning the holy place, or buanhoos, or banehoos.

[The form is somewhat suspect but may represent an Ork. version of Eng. holy.]
