HEIDLICHT, adj. Also head-, headlight. Giddy, lightheaded (Ork.1 1949; Sh., Cai. 1956). Hence headlightness, lightheadedness.Sh. 1899 Shetland News (20 May):
Man, da tought o' yon maks me headlight.
Sh. 1900 Ib. (6 Jan.):
Whin da headlightness wöre aff o' me, I kent he widna wraet ony dis night.
Sh. 1953 New Shetlander No. 36.31:
Dey wid birl wi da lasses till dir feet swang aroond, . . . Da puir tings sae heidlicht, dey near fell asoond, Athin da aald sail laft at Skeld.
