HAPPRICK, n. Also haprick (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl.), haprik (Sh. 1914 Angus Gl.), happrik. One of two panniers or baskets connected by a band, slung on the back of a horse, gen. used for transporting manure (Sh. 1956). Also used fig.Sh. 1877 G. Stewart Fireside Tales 35:
A auld osmal luikin' auld maid, wi' a mooth laek a horse happrick.Sh. 1913 Old-Lore Misc. VI. iii. 138:
I yüst up wi' hen's happrik, eggs and a', and clappit apo' tap o'm.
